A hollyhock with others.

Don’t let your hearts be troubled. You trust God, so you can also trust me . In my Father’s house there’s plenty of room for everyone. If that weren’t so I would have told you. I (Jesus) am going home to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, you can be sure I will come back to take you home with me, so you can be with me forever.

John 14 : 1-3
An early morning 6am look at the Zinnias with petals letting cool air in.
The evening sun still hot on a holihock stalk.
Starting at the top: its buds and flower and then those older flowers that have rolled their petals up to join others making fat, flat, rounded seed pods. A wonderful journey through time spent in a scorching few weeks of summer.

Another day is done in my garden for this tall plant accompanied by cardoon and other zinnia behind.
A borrowed / taken pleasure.
A corner planting at Chenies earlier this week where they specialise in Dahlias at this time of year.

I would like to spend the whole of my life traveling, if I could anywhere borrow (take) another life to spend at home.

William Hazlitt ( 17781830 considered one of the greatest critics and essayist in the history of the English language.)

I have learned to live each day as it comes, and not borrow (take) trouble by dreading tomorrow. It is the dark menace of the future that makes cowards of us.

Dorothea Dix (1802-1887 American nurse who through lobbying created the expansion of hospitals for the treatment of mental illness.)

We cancelled our Sabbath walk as it has been very hot for most of the day. I hope those of us ill prepared for heat find cool places to be. (Our homes on the whole don’t have air conditioning as it rarely gets hot enough and we are mostly prepared for cold weather.)

Thank you for looking at this post.

  1. Great version of John 14:1-3… Yours?
One hardly expects that sort of heat there by you! Look after yourselves. I must plant some zinnias. I wonder if the baboons and buck would eat it…
I appreciated this post and the quotes. xx

  2. I love the way you described the cycle of the hollyhock Sandy Thank you for sharing your thoughts with usπŸ€ The Dahlias are so beautiful It looks like they are coping well enough with the heat Stay cool!
