A Sabbath circular walk of 4 miles at Hughenden Manor.

The wheat has been harvested since we were here on Monday. At that time, we knew we were going to lead the Sabbath walk so we made sure we knew the way and walked it before we visited the house and garden. Not all of our group have passes for the house so we
chose a path where we could all be together. The landscape was undulating with the paths sometimes in bright sunshine with open views and at other times tunnels of thick or dappled shade.
The leaves are dropping early because of the heat and lack of rain while the earth is hard baked.
Walking on golden, stubble grass.
A path next to the green of tall stinging nettles.
Hughenden Church where Disraeli attended and Queen Victoria had a memorial placed in honour of him.
The memorial.
We started and ended our walk at Hughenden church. Here these flowers were left after a wedding had taken place a few hours before. The programmes were left at the door and here are a few lovely words from one of them.

“How on earth are you going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?” Albert Einstein

God is love, and those who live in love live in God and God lives in them. 1 John 4 : 16

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love.

Romans 12: 9

I do hope for the sake of the countryside we have some rain soon. Since we last walked on Monday the pools of water in the river have all dried up and in its place was an uninterrupted dark brown ribbon of dryness.

Thank you for looking at my post.

Sandy 😊
