A bowl of Zinnias

” God has given to every man his work; and if anyone turns from the work that God has given him, to do the work of Satan, to defile his own body or lead another into sin, that man’s work is cursed, and the brand of Cain is placed upon him. The ruin of his victim will cry unto God, as did the blood of Abel. Any man/woman/minister/layperson, who seeks to compel or control the reason of any other man / woman , becomes an agent of Satan, to do his work, and in the sight of the heavenly universe he bears the mark of Cain.” EG White (Cain killed his brother Abel because God accepted Abel’s sacrifice of a lamb representing the death of Christ and not Cain’s of vegetables.) This event is told in Genisis 4 and in verse 15 is the mark of Cain.

It is exactly a week since I bought and planted these Zinnias. I am pleased they have lasted a week. They are still heavy with flowers but had roots cramped in small pots. For a week now they have been in the soil of the garden and this morning I chose to take the heaviest, biggest flower off each plant. Hence a bowl of zinnias.

The smaller flowers and buds are growing and hopefully the plants will spread their roots a bit more and give them the stability they need.

Still in their small pots as I bought them with cramped roots.

Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day- like writing a poem or saying a prayer.

A bowl of zinnias

Every time I sit for a song, I feel I am finished. It’s like a beggar sitting waiting for God to fill your bowl with the right thought. In every song, I ask help from Him. Everybody around is so good, so to create music that will connect with so many people is not humanly possible without inspiration.
