The road to Aranjuez then a Palace and a Garden of gardens.

The mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6

The palace of Aranjuez

King Philip commissioned the building of the Palace of Aranjuez in the 16th century. However the work continued through to the reign of Charles 111when it was completed in the 18th century.
A large door with an equally impressive view.
The entrance hall with a painting of King Philip on a horse…
…and from here on no pictures were allowed.

Isobella but here is a link to Isobella’s room as an example of the type of furnishings inside this enormous Palace of Aranjuez.

The garden

Aranjuez is a fertile Valley watered by two rivers the Tagus and the Jarama. The Gardens of Aranjuez have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. This is the largest fenced garden in Europe and is also called “the garden of gardens”. There are 190 different species of trees.

This captures well the feel of the garden. Avenues of trees leading to fountain focal points allowing for connections.

In this garden I remember that…

For a few days we are remembering with respect Queen Elizabeth on her jubilee.

Seventy years of committed service .

It is a long time to do what others wish you to do. It is a long time to shake hands, smile, encourage with your presence and bring a sense of patriotism to your people.

It is a long time to be watched and talked about. To receive and give attention to strangers who you belong to.

My personal thank you to you a Queen, a widow, a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother! Our lives have been blessed by your steady care for all these roles. God bless and keep you in His care. Always.

With my deep respect.

Sandy.
