Where there is no wood, there the fire goes out. In the same way when we don’t do unkind things and say critical unkind things about each other fighting stops.
Proverbs 26:20
This national park is home to pine forests and the sea as well as Spain’s largest lake with wetlands and lagoons. There are approximately 340 bird species.
A short cycle… … to a wind swept beach……where two brave people were enjoying the rough and tumble of the sea. Then look at the sunset…
Our Spanish helmsman manouvering our wooden boat through the lagoon and onto the lake. ( Looks romantic? We had 7 under fives, 3 older children and lots of parents. A happy group of Spanish speaking voices with the calls of the seagulls as they fought for bread tossed out to them.)
In order to see birds it is necessary to become a part of the silence.
Robert Wilson Lynd
An hour with seagulls and herons as the reds and golds of sunset meet the blue of the water to share their glitter.
There is nothing in which the birds differ more from man than the way in which they can build and yet leave a landscape as it was before.
Robert Wilson Lynd

These wetlands are also used to grow rice and it is said Paella was first made here. Here is a vegetable Paella . Try making one. I haven’t but maybe I will “one day.” I hope you were with us a little today through this post.
