The strong yet playful wind in the trees and on the water.

Jesus was talking to a clever man and was trying to help him understand that he needed to be born of water and the Spirit.

“The wind blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, and you don’t know where it is coming from and where it is going to:  so is everyone born of the Spirit”

I am not sure Nicodemus got it.

But Jesus and Nicodemus were two minds on a journey and Jesus wasn’t going to stop without giving some profound facts about Himself.

The story is in the Bible in the book of John Chapter 3
The moving wind unseen but felt.

As a child I loved climbing trees. Low trees.  Our Rhodesian (Zimbabwean) trees were not the mighty oak or fir unless they were in a park where trees weren’t climbed.  So here in my imagination I climbed up to the blue sky, jumped over to the partner tree and slid down  🤣🤣…

This brings to mind the poem by John Greeleaf Whittier an American Quaker poet.

O Sabbath rest by Galilee,

O calm of hills above,

where Jesus knelt to share with thee

the silence of eternity,

interpreted by love!

  1. Love the video where you climbed up, jumped over and came down, and there was Bess! Beautiful post. That last bit is from one of my favourite hymns “Dear Lord and Father of Mankind.” All the verses are so meaningful. xx
