have made this 65ft / 19.8m picnic bench for over 100 people to sit at, at any one time. The tree at its feet was brought down during storm Eunice.
The nuts of chestnut trees have been an important source of food since at least 2,000 BC. They are used to make flour and a substitute for potatoes. The trees are fast growing and tolerate rocky, acidic poor soil. They help return degraded landscapes into healthy forests.
