Jesus is talking to a clever ruler named Nicademus : “I want you to know something that except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicademus took this literally and had a little joke with Jesus but Jesus replied : “Except a man be born of water and the Spirit , he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

Roses ( fairtrade florist roses)) from Kenya where they get 12 hours of sun a day. How lovely! One wonders how we can look after our world by being more seasonal but then what about those who need the income.
A rose with deep black shadows. These roses mean a lot to me because they were given to me by my younger son.
The artist and I were friends when our small children played together. Our families had many Sabbath lunches together. She collected dolls and she painted this bowl of roses in exchange for one. Those were the days when our children were busy building dens/forts in the garden.
In the summer this shrub has tapered, arching spikes of small white flowers some up to six inches long. These winter, dry, brown spikes arch in the same way as the flowers giving movement.

Camelia buds with a glossy leaf. These buds will be deep red flowers in spring. (These won’t but those below will be stronger for having had these taken🙂) There are a lot of buds this year. The shrub is old but only coming into its own now that there are no footballs landing on and in it.

Not all the wisdom and skill of man can produce life in the smallest object in nature. It is only through the life which God Himself has imparted, that either plant or animal can live. So it is only through the life from God that spiritual life is begotten in the hearts of men.
