No pink spots of Botrytis on the petals of this late November rose. Warmer and drier weather takes away the humidity and moisture that Botrytis thrives in. Good ventilation through and round the rose bush keeps the humidity buildup down. Clearly there were fewer leaves and drier days for this rose to develop in, so now I know for next season. The Sedum is healthy too.
This is day 1 of the rose in the vase, now out of the freezing cold. This is the vase I used in the post, Black Mullein and Sedum, with the John Leach stamp underneath. Day 2 in the vase. The perennial Sedum, Autumn Joy , is exactly that a joy. It is flowering well and has grown strong. It will be old enough and big enough not to be overwhelmed by the snails when I take it out of its pot and grow it on in the garden this coming spring.A leaf from one of our small garden bushes. In general I just take off any diseased leaves I see. I sometimes wash plants with water and washing up liquid. I avoid growing what is difficult to grow or they avoid me. 🤣Maybe this will change as I have more time.
