France Day 22: Montpellier and by the sea at Palavas

From Shelly…
A large reminder of a place people love. It lies on a strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and unspoilt lakes, whose identity goes back 300 years. On the canal side is professional fishing territory as Palavas is a port.
A well rubbed nose
A pigeon and a stroked leg and a well fondled hand…
The grouping of refugees from the sea see Palava for the first time.

The sea is washing the sand out from under my feet it tickles and makes for repositioning or becoming unstable. My fall marks are burning from the salty water doing them good. Yesterday I slipped and fell on the tram lines in Montpellier. People came to me urging me to get up nobody wanted to touch me. Covid from them or covid from me. I got myself to the step of the station and sat down. Bess jumped on my lap. More gesticulating more noise the tram is coming! I manage to get up and out the way. No touching just foreign sounds of urgent consternation and then I was safe.
I was recounting this story to Roy while having a hot chocolate in Palavas when I turned round and greeted this lady. I had looked straight at her and a greeting was only polite. She said she had heard everything and she shook hands with us both warmly and said she was a model in London. She spoke Italian, French and English. She was determined to break with no touching and I asked for a picture. She has lovely facial features and is certainly slim but her hand shake was firm with hands that know a lot of physical work.
This is our cycle ride from where we were parked last night and tonight. We will cycle again tomorrow.
To Sandy…

  1. Oh noooo! Your fall story freaked me out!! Stay off the tramlines please please. I need my sister. Horrible when nobody wants to help. Where was I 😫.
You’re looking lovely. I like that church/restaurant- what a good idea.
I love the verse … I will sing in the shadow of your wings…
    Look after yourself.xx

  2. We’re a bunch of volunteers and opening a brand new scheme in our community. Your web site provided us with useful info to paintings on. You have performed a formidable activity and our entire neighborhood will probably be thankful to you.
