Reflections on a city.

In 1and 2 are a couple of many vineyards on the way from Carcassonne to Narbonne. Our weather has changed while feeling warmer it has become greyer. In 3 is Bugzy parked in a normal car park in Narbonne. It was a bit of a squeeze. In 4 is Alstroemeria/ Peruvian Lily 5 Canna Lilly 6 Papyrus
Through the city runs the Canal de la Robine. The market was held a long it and on either side. There are also various restaurants fronted on to it with relaxing places to sit. This was the butternut soup I enjoyed today in one of them.
Butternut soup with a faint taste of cinnamon and finely chopped chives with a little grated cheese to add.
An attractive square in the heart of Narbonne.
Look closely a pair of pigeons have a nest on the cross. I couldn’t help but think of Mary and Joseph bringing two doves to the temple for His dedication. In a Cathedral that never was completed due to a lack of funds this cross is more able to provide shelter to these wild creatures.
Enormous structures just never completed…

The completed section, the chancel started in 1272 became the Cathedral of St-Just et St-Pasteur.
The enormous door furnishing on one of the great red doors. Some of the Aubusson and Gobelin tapestries hanging on the walls of the completed Chancel. Then after a journey of about 20 minutes we reached the seaside.
At the seaside. The Narbonne Plage. It has won the European Blue Flag every year since 1988. No fewer than 5 km of fine sandy beach.

  1. Love those birds nesting by the statue. So peaceful. That verse in Romans reminds me of the Max Lucado book, “God will use this for good.” Hope it’ll be a lovely relaxing Sabbath wherever you spend it. Love you sis. 😘
