Cardoon ripe with seed,Yarrow in the dry and yellow, Euphorbia leaves and white Sedum flowers

The cross of Calvary while it declares the law immutable, proclaims to the universe that the wages of sin is death. In the Saviour’s expiring cry, ” It is finished,” the death-knell of Satan was rung. The great controversy which had been so long in progress was then decided, and the final eradication of evil was made certain.

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stuble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

Malachi 4: 1
Dominating Cardoon ready to burst it is so full of seeds with two other seed filled thistle heads.

Euphorbia growing in the garden. This plant was used in the arrangement I made in memory of my father-in-law. It has grown enormously and certainly wouldn’t fit into a walking boot as it did that day in June 2020.
These white Sedum flowers from my garden have been challenged by the snails and these few are quite small. However, many types of Bees and flies visit these star shaped flowers and this fleshy succulent perrenial is growing in full sun. It likes well drained neutral to slightly alkaline soil and dies down in winter being able to withstand temperatures below -20 C. The drying yarrow and yellow fresh Yarrow in the background are both from the same plant.

Satan, the chief of the fallen angels, once had an exalted position in heaven. He was next in honor to Christ. The knowledge, which he as well as the Angels who fell with him, had of the character of God, of His goodness, His mercy, wisdom, and excellent glory, made their guilt unpardonable…

There was no reserve force of power, nor were there any greater heights and depths of infinite glory to overpower their jealous doubts and rebellious murmuring.
