Maroon and pink from the garden

I trust in your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

Psalm 13 : 5
Fuchsia, a pendulent two tone flower in cerise and purple, Cyclamen, in bright pink and cerise, and Coral bell,
leaves in maroon with spikes of small pink flowers. These make up this arrangement.
Cyclamen used as a cut flower can last for up to 2 weeks. The Coral bell veined leaves in shades of maroon also have just as long a vase life.
Round glass container with green glass beads was my find at the charity shop yesterday for £3. I love how the beads seem more fulsome with the water and small air bubbles
It was good to use the IPA again.
In 1703 Charles Plumier named this plant after a German physician and botanist, Leonhard Fuchus. It has abundant growth and is a mass of flowers at the moment.
My newly planted Cyclamen one of six.

Cyclamen like:

  • Grit please
  • Dappled shade
  • Tolerates frost down to -3 to -4 (24-26F)
  • Keep on the dry side
  • Twisting and pulling of stem when dead heading. No bits left on corm to rot and then rot the corm.

Cyclamen don’t like:

  • Heavy rain
  • Strong wind

Well let us see how my six do. In the language of flowers they stand for sincerity. I am sincerely looking forward to this journey with them into the cold, grey, short days of winter.

The Autumn Rasberries at all stages. I guess we will share them with all great and small. There are no nets.

Love is like a beautiful flower which I may not touch, but whose fragrance makes the garden a place of delight.

  1. Fuchsias always remind me of Mom. She grew them by the kitchen door in Port Elizabeth. You take after her with your green fingers. Beautiful post. Happy Sabbath to you, Roy and Bess. 🥰
