Sun, pebbles, Fern, 3 Zinnias and Tutsan

And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city… Revelations 22: 12-14

Arrangement melting into picture.
Fern framing lady’s face.
Light delighting wet pebbles shaped on the Dorset coast. The vase was bought for £5 from a charity shop. It’s shape lends itself to the pebbles.
Fern Spores. These are sori. Each Sori is made up of a a group of sporangia in a casing (seed case). Inside each sporangia is the genetic basis of a new plant.
I had this print in my office and for many years when winter grey was part of every day I would let my mind go into it. I picked it up at a charity shop but have always valued it’s sunny ‘aloness’. I want to give credit to the artist whose print it is by taking this picture of the signature.
Since writing the above I have found a picture and more information about the artist who brightened my grey days. His name is GLYN BOYD HARTE. The print I have is 170/500. He was born in 1948 and unfortunately died of Leukaemia in 2003.

I feel I need to say more about him now because of the joy he brought.

“Glynn Boyd Harte was one of the most brilliant and influential illustrators and painters to emerge in the post pop world of London in the early 1970’s ” The Guardian.

He was an Artist, Illustrator, Author, Composer & Pianist.

Educated at Rochdale Grammar School, Rochdale School of Art, St Martin’s School of Art, Royal College of Art.

He married the painter Caroline Bullock. He was Master of the Art workers Guild 1996. He wrote and Illustrated: 1981 A weekend in Dieppe 1988 Venice. 1990 Mr. Harte’s Holiday

So this is my picture behind the flowers and it will still continue to help drive away the grey of winter days.

…Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so come Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen Revelations 22: 20-21

  1. So nice you could have found out about the artist. Delightfully simple but bright painting. Flowers👍🏻 I really like the way you’ve arranged stones in the vase. Beautiful.
